Shope Upgrades Quote Software

Shope Concrete Products recently upgraded their quote application program called, "Job Estimator." The copyrighted software application was developed specifically for Shope Concrete Products by software engineer Norm Richards. The Windows XP based program is used to prepare product quotes for Shope customers. This is the forth major upgrade for Job Estimator with many significant improvements.

Three years ago, Shope Concrete Products installed an internal computer network and intranet. To enhance this technology, real time file and data sharing was needed to allow multiple users access to valuable quote data within the Shope domain. "This upgrade will enhance our effectiveness and proficiency in meeting increased demands from our customers to provide detailed price quotes", said Gary Hall, who spent many hours with Richards contributing development ideas.

Job Estimator is unique in that it was specifically written to accommodate Shope's product line and quote tasks. The program was first developed in the summer of 1989 for the Atari ST computer. Job Estimator was originally brainstormed by Erik Hall after meeting Richards in 1988 at a computer repair shop. Job Estimator later progressed to Windows for Workgroups 3.11, Windows 95, NT, 2000, and finally Windows XP.
